Berlin Lovin'

So throughout my travels, there is one nationality that I inevitably run into everywhere that I go–

Germans.

Germans in Scotland, Germans in Thailand, Germans in Ireland, Germans in New Zealand, Germans in America, Germans in Bali…

They’re everywhere!

Lucky ducks…

Therefore, it only seemed appropriate to travel to their home country. I’ve continuously heard awesome things about Germany, so I had to see what all the fuss was about.

Berlin!

Of course, the lure of German beer and brats during Oktoberfest season had absolutely nothing to do with my decision…

Ahem. Anyways…

Day one in Berlin was spent as a straight-up tourist.

Starting with…

A morning beer from the nearest crusty beer & cig shack!

(you can drink a beer anytime, anywhere here)

I’m lying. I actually had…

..my first taste of German food!

Apple Strudel

Soooooooo good.

Totally stuffed, I wandered over to the Berlin Oktoberfest celebration.

Plenty of German food, vendors, and beer!

Although I could have probably stayed here all day…there were too many wonderful sights to see nearby.

Fernsehturm Berlin

My favorite-the Berlin Cathedral

Which I was kinda obsessed with...

Seriously, it is so freaking beautiful.

Altes Museum

Alte Nationalgalerie

Lovely. Simply lovely.

Although Berlin has some amazing architecture & historical monuments, it’s also a very happenin’ city, with plenty to get into every night of the week.

Since I couldn’t go to this, I opted to return to the Oktoberfest celebration instead.

If I told you that I had one beer & went to bed....

I'd be a dirty liar.

Which is why I had a late-night currywurst…

Day 1=success!
